President Trump departed West Palm Beach, Florida yesterday after spending several days with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife at Mar-a-Lago.
Trump arrived in Key West to participate in a briefing on drug interdiction efforts by the military in order to stem the flow of illegal drugs into this country and help protect our citizens.
“We’re committed to securing our borders to reduce crime, illegal drugs, human trafficking… Drugs are flowing into our country. We need border protection. We need the wall. We have to have the wall. The Democrats don’t want to approve the wall because they think it’s good politically, but it’s not.”
Trump visited the Naval Air Station Key West and was briefed by the Joint Interagency Task Force South. While there, reporters yelled out rude questions to him, including questions about his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen.
The president took it in stride and instead of falling for their antics, gave a brilliant answer that shut them right down.
“Thank you everybody. I hope you saw the crowds up in Key West. I’ve never seen anything like that. It was really very inspirational and what we just witnessed was incredible. Those crowds coming in, I think even the media will have to say, that was quite something. Thank you very much.”
Trump did not let the media get the best of him with their bullying tactics and instead changed the subject to something positive that they will never report on.
